About us

Redhills Medical Centre is a family oriented medical practice with Dr Sasha Baijnath as the Owner and Director.
​
Dr Sasha immigrated from South Africa with her family in 2006 and has provided long-term locum services to many practices in the Waikato and Auckland region.

She has decided to open her own practice as she recognises the need for GP services and would like to establish a long -lasting relationship with the patient.

At Redhills Medical Centre, patients will be empowered to manage their health issues, while Dr Sasha offers dedication, affordability, accessibility, professionalism, and a team approach to make this possible.

With a modern, spacious and high technology practice facility, Redhills Medical Centre is conveniently located at the Red Hill Shopping Centre on the corner of Don Buck Road and Red Hills Road in Massey.

The practice staff comprises of Dr Sasha, a Practice Manager, Nurse and Reception.

The Practice offers:

  • A full range of general practice services including Nurse services.
  • Opening hours 9am to 6pm, except Friday 9am to 1pm.
  • Affordable, low co-payments with children under 14 years free.
  • Same day prescriptions available.
  • Virtual consults, Home visits and COVID – 19 testing by arrangement.
  • Free and ample parking is available.
  • The practice is wheelchair accessible.
  • Patients will have the option to sign up for Manage My Health portal where online appointments can be booked, lab results can be checked, and other documents can be viewed
  • Patients will be contacted directly with Blood results via either text or phone call.

We are affiliated with Comprehensive CarePHO whose aim is Supporting and Uplifting the Health and Wellbeing of the People of Aotearoa New Zealand.

The Practice Team

Dr. Sathisha Baijnath (GP and Owner)
You can call her Dr. Sasha. She has 2 beautiful daughters and 4 boisterous grandsons that keeps her dancing and gardening most weekends.
​
She graduated from the University of Natal, South Africa in 1982 and has been practicing in New Zealand since 2006.
​
Dr Sasha has worked as a locum doctor in many areas of the beautiful North Island before establishing Redhills Medical Centre. She likes to build strong patient-doctor relationships while striving towards excellence in service. Passionate about her work as a general practitioner, she enjoys looking after people of all ages.
Gavin Castle (Practice Manager)
Gavin is a practice manager with a difference. He loves fishing with his grandsons and spending quality time with his family and friends.

He has many years of practice management experience while working in South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.

His focus is excellence in patient services while keeping his staff and patients happy.

Gavin was instrumental in setting up Redhills Medical Centre and is responsible for its very smooth operation. Fully aware of the challenges facing general medical practice, he is passionate about health care in the community and strives to improve service to our patients.
Valeska Langman (Registered Nurse)
You can call her Val. She is a mum to three rascally but handsome boys, and three rowdy dogs.

She has been nursing in General Practice for over 8 years and she is working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Val loves her job very much and being a part of the health journey for our patients brings her great joy. She is open minded and understand that everyone’s story is unique to them, therefore it’s important to take the time to listen.

She believes that by empowering patients with health education and literacy, they will become masters of their own health and can use that knowledge to pass onto their future Mokopuna.
